Lite Sat 1.3A Achieves Viasat Global Xpress Type Approval

The Lite Coms Lite Sat 1.3A has received official type approval for operation on the Viasat Global Xpress (GX) network, expanding the terminal’s ability to support flexible, multi-orbit satellite communications.

The approval validates the 1.3-meter terminal’s performance on Viasat’s global Ka-band GEO network and complements its existing approval for the O3b mPOWER MEO constellation. This enables users to access multiple satellite architectures from a single portable terminal, supporting more resilient Primary, Alternate, Contingency and Emergency communications strategies.

The Lite Sat 1.3A is also WGS certified for X- and Ka-band operation, providing defense and government users with a versatile solution for a wide range of mission requirements.

When paired with Lite Coms’ High-Capacity Kit, the terminal can support data rates of up to 300 Mbps on Viasat’s high-capacity Ka-band network. This added throughput can help field teams support demanding applications such as high-definition video, cloud-based command and control, and other data-intensive operations without requiring a larger fixed terminal.

The approval reflects Lite Coms’ continued focus on developing rapidly deployable SATCOM systems that provide greater network flexibility, dependable performance, and mission-ready connectivity in demanding environments.
