FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 based on experience and an additional annual bonus

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to design, develop, test, release, improve, and support advanced satellite communication products. This role provides broad exposure across system architecture, hardware design, manufacturing, and product lifecycle engineering with a customer experience focus.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, software, RF, test and manufacturing to develop new communication systems and continuously improve existing platforms. Engineers in this role have significant ownership and are directly involved in rapidly developing and delivering production-ready hardware — not just prototypes, through fielding and customer support.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, working across multiple engineering disciplines, and seeing their designs transition into real-world fielded systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead electrical and system-level design for satellite communication terminals

· Architect and develop hardware solutions from concept through product sunset

· Specify, design, validate, troubleshoot, and support printed circuit boards and electronic subsystems

· Develop and improve manufacturing test procedures and support production teams

· Participate in certification and compliance testing (both commercial and military standards)

· Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout product lifecycle

· Work with suppliers and contractors to select components and manage technical trade-offs

· Support product lifecycle activities including updates, enhancements, sustaining, and field issue resolution

· Contribute to technical innovation, usability improvements, and time-to-market initiatives

· Assist with BOM management, long-lead planning, and engineering schedule coordination

Why This Role Stands Out

· End-to-End Engineering Ownership: Work across the full product lifecycle from early design through manufacturing, deployment, and sustaining.

· Real-World Impact: Design hardware that is actively deployed and used by defense and global customers

· Broad Technical Exposure: Gain experience in system architecture, integration and design of high-reliability electronics, manufacturing engineering, and compliance testing

· Fast Product Cycles: Participate in rapid development and continuous product innovation

· Collaborative Multidisciplinary Environment: Work alongside mechanical, software, RF, and systems engineers

· Career Growth Opportunities: Join a growing organization where engineers help shape products, processes, and technical direction

· Hands-On Engineering Culture: Engineers remain technically engaged and closely connected to production hardware

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

· 3–5 years of professional engineering experience or equivalent relevant background

· Experience with electronic hardware design, testing, and troubleshooting

· Familiarity with lab test equipment and engineering validation processes

· Experience with system development or integration

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Experience interacting with vendors and technical partners

· Familiarity with engineering documentation, configuration management, and product lifecycle practices

· Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with satellite communications, RF systems, or communication interfaces

· Familiarity with military or ruggedized product design standards

· Experience with VSAT technologies or satellite terminal architectures

· Exposure to baseband modems or communication subsystems

· Experience supporting certification processes such as CE or similar standards

Compensation & Work Environment

· Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 Plus a bonus in addition to salary

· NY State income tax exemption eligibility under Start-Up NY program

· Health Insurance completely covered for the employee

· Employer paid life insurance

Work Environment:

· Typical electronic design and assembly environment

· Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
