RATE:                                 Based on Experience/ $28-$32 with additional bonus plan

Hours:                               Mon-Thurs 7:00-4:30  Fri 7:00-11:00

POSITION SUMMARY:  Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lead Production Planner is responsible for scheduling the usage of production materials to ensure optimal levels. The planner must work closely with operations in helping to achieve on time delivery of product. They also monitor supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage that may arise.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and material through production phases
  • Implements planned production schedule, labor loading, and capacity requirements.
  • Reviews schedules to determine material and part requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules.
  • Analyzes, plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials timed to meet production requirements
  • Analyze work order data, recommend adjustment to lead times, lot sizing, and planning buffers
  • Manage and minimize obsolescence due to design and revision changes.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement ideas and implementation.
  • Efficient at understanding engineering change notifications (ECN)
  • Proactively develop risk mitigation strategies for critical material, long lead, and historical delivery/quality items
  • Provides status of work in progress, material availability to insure personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
  • Oversight of new product introductions and redesign activities
  • Other Duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and minimum of 1 years of prior related experience

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated and proven record of showing a sense of urgency and an excellent ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated record of problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Driven and career minded with a desire to develop the production control and planning skills that are critical to a successful Production Planning/Supply Chain career.
  • Experience with serial genealogy of make items

 

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
